WOW, is all I can say. No, it isn’t. I posted on Stage32.com’s forum a few days ago, searching for someone to analyze my five (5)-page screenplay short, “Love Appeal”. An experienced Horror Director/Writer (Shane W.) offered to analyze it free of charge.
This is what he had to say, “Hi Dawn, Read through the screenplay. It’s a pretty unique story, not something done to my knowledge, and the quasi-silent film feel is an interesting touch. It has a nice feel to it, and it’s a good story.”
He gave me a couple of recommendations on how to improve it. He also advised me it was going to be somewhat expensive to have it produced because of my props, location and other factors.
He said shorts normally don’t make a lot of money, BUT…. I am not doing this for monetary gain; I’m doing this to get my foot in the door. I’m trying to make ZERO dollars off of this script, but I won’t turn any down. Anywho, I’m trying to establish a calling card for myself, so I can enter this into a few film festivals, and competitions.
I have decisions to make, and more opinions to receive in reference to the cost of bringing my Short to life.
