Check me out tomorrow!!!!
Tomorrow night I make my big debut on WMBB News 13 at 10 pm (cst). I was interviewed by Greg Sherrod for Panhandle People. I wasn’t as nervous as I anticipated, however, I’m still a behind the scenes type of writer chic, but I will do it again to promote the film.
If you’re unable to catch the first airing, it will show again the following morning, Monday between 05:00 – 06:00, and again between 06:00 – and 07:00 am, and midday between 11:00 – 12:00 pm central standard times.
Wish me luck!!!
Come and visit me at my summer home, located at Hidden Secrets Movie. This is where I will be spending most of my summer, making numerous posts. Sure I will stop in here from time to time, and drop a line or two, but in the mean-time, most of my summer will be spent over at Hidden Secrets Movie page.
Too many social media pages to manage, but it’s not like I get a lot of visitors here. Anywho, click the link above and come check out what I’ve done with the place. Hope to see you soon!!!!
First, I want to thank Jacob “JB” Barrage of JB Barrage Entertainment, LLC for contacting me on Stage32. I threw my hands up and had decided to stick to writing with hopes of someday being discovered because I had totally given up trying to produce one of my short films.
Anywho, I’m now in the process of Read more
I’m outlining another masterpiece that I suppose to finish by the end of March, but basically just starting. It’s another story that has been singing in my head for close to a year, and it’s time to get serious. I am a big time procrastinator but once I start…
It’s another high-concept comedy, and absolutely no hints will be given. All I can say, it’ll probably be controversial. I’m still waiting to receive my latest script, “All Circuits Busy”, so Read more
I had my first “Verbal Pitch” last week via Skype with Cider Mill Productions, and I had a video malfunction. He could hear, but he could not see me.
Although, I was as nervous as a Virgin at a prison rodeo (Blanch from Golden Girls), the individual I pitched to, said I did well for my first time. However, he passed on reading my script. No biggie, my first time for this script “All Circuits Busy”, and it will not be the last because I believe I have a winner.
So, I’ve decided to place my screenplay into “rehab”, so the next time I pitch, I WILL Read more
WOW, is all I can say. No, it isn’t. I posted on Stage32.com’s forum a few days ago, searching for someone to analyze my five (5)-page screenplay short, “Love Appeal”. An experienced Horror Director/Writer (Shane W.) offered to analyze it free of charge.
This is what he had to say, “Hi Dawn, Read through the screenplay. It’s a pretty unique story, not something done to my knowledge, and the quasi-silent film feel is an interesting touch. It has a nice feel to it, and it’s a good story.”
He gave me a couple of recommendations on how Read more

I have this amazing story inside my head. The title alone says a lot, but for some strange reason, when I sit down to type or write, I produce nothing, because it’s all scrambled. The words are in a maze with a blocked exit and an extremely high wall.
I don’t have writers block, I’m just a blocked writer. Maya Angelou said it best, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” She may have been speaking on another level, but not much of a difference.
I’ve written screenplays before, (two at the same time) and the words flowed like Niagara Falls in the summer. Three Screenplays, two outlines (again, at the same time), three shorts, numerous log-lines of stories I have yet to start.
I told myself, move on to the next screenplay, but the truth is, the story I’m trying to convey is not the issue, it’s M.E. My mind is restless when I’m awake, when I’m Read more
In June, the initial announcement from BET was that the TV premiere of Ava DuVernay’s 2012 Sundance Film Festival winning film (Best Director Award), “Middle of Nowhere,” was then set for this Wednesday, July 23, at 9/8c.
Earlier this month, the network moved the film’s debut back by about 10 days, to tomorrow, Saturday, August 2, starting at 8pm/7c.
So for the many of you who never got to see the film, and have been emailing me over the last year, asking if I know when it will premiere on BET,you’ll finally now have your opportunity to Read more
