I’ve decided to take matters (once again) into my own hands instead of waiting around for Hollywood to take interest in my work. As of now, I have “All Circuits Busy” being professionally rewritten by Julie Paupe, owner of Scriptwriterhelp.com. Julie has helped me before, and she’s an expert.
My plan is to Read more
That’s what I said. I obtained an agent about a week ago, and I couldn’t be happier. I can finally see my art coming to life.
Thank You so much, Duane. Even though I sent you the wrong draft, you still saw the beauty.
ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!!!
What I wish to do is take one of my full length films and condense it down into a short film so I can produce the film to enter into film competitions.
When I first tried to raise the funds, the amount was way too high; however, my second crowdfunding campaign still did not receive donations.
What I need is roughly $7,500 to get this film produced. What I can offer in return is major advertisement, and WHEN I sell the full length version of the film titled, “Sometimes Love” I will in return give you 5% of what it sells for. So, even if it sells for 1 million, you Read more
Come and visit me at my summer home, located at Hidden Secrets Movie. This is where I will be spending most of my summer, making numerous posts. Sure I will stop in here from time to time, and drop a line or two, but in the mean-time, most of my summer will be spent over at Hidden Secrets Movie page.
Too many social media pages to manage, but it’s not like I get a lot of visitors here. Anywho, click the link above and come check out what I’ve done with the place. Hope to see you soon!!!!
I’m outlining another masterpiece that I suppose to finish by the end of March, but basically just starting. It’s another story that has been singing in my head for close to a year, and it’s time to get serious. I am a big time procrastinator but once I start…
It’s another high-concept comedy, and absolutely no hints will be given. All I can say, it’ll probably be controversial. I’m still waiting to receive my latest script, “All Circuits Busy”, so Read more
WOW, is all I can say. No, it isn’t. I posted on Stage32.com’s forum a few days ago, searching for someone to analyze my five (5)-page screenplay short, “Love Appeal”. An experienced Horror Director/Writer (Shane W.) offered to analyze it free of charge.
This is what he had to say, “Hi Dawn, Read through the screenplay. It’s a pretty unique story, not something done to my knowledge, and the quasi-silent film feel is an interesting touch. It has a nice feel to it, and it’s a good story.”
He gave me a couple of recommendations on how Read more
I have this amazing story inside my head. The title alone says a lot, but for some strange reason, when I sit down to type or write, I produce nothing, because it’s all scrambled. The words are in a maze with a blocked exit and an extremely high wall.
I don’t have writers block, I’m just a blocked writer. Maya Angelou said it best, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” She may have been speaking on another level, but not much of a difference.
I’ve written screenplays before, (two at the same time) and the words flowed like Niagara Falls in the summer. Three Screenplays, two outlines (again, at the same time), three shorts, numerous log-lines of stories I have yet to start.
I told myself, move on to the next screenplay, but the truth is, the story I’m trying to convey is not the issue, it’s M.E. My mind is restless when I’m awake, when I’m Read more
In June, the initial announcement from BET was that the TV premiere of Ava DuVernay’s 2012 Sundance Film Festival winning film (Best Director Award), “Middle of Nowhere,” was then set for this Wednesday, July 23, at 9/8c.
Earlier this month, the network moved the film’s debut back by about 10 days, to tomorrow, Saturday, August 2, starting at 8pm/7c.
So for the many of you who never got to see the film, and have been emailing me over the last year, asking if I know when it will premiere on BET,you’ll finally now have your opportunity to Read more
WOW, it has been a long time since I’ve made a post. As you read from the title, I have yet to make it as a Screenwriter. Have I felt like throwing my hands up like I normally do and say F*ck it, yes, several times.
I’ve sent out close to one-hundred and fifty query letters in reference to my screenplay “Sometimes Love’, and received one response. He requested my synopsis, and advised me the story wouldn’t work for a Producer/Director he had in mind, so in my opinion, it wasn’t all bad.
I’ve decided to move on to another screenplay Read more
So after three days of stalking Common and Tika Sumpter, I finally tapped out. I’m still not giving up, but I’ve decided to concentrate on searching for me a reputable agent, and continue with trying to finish my second screenplay, “TORN”. I’m just as excited about this one as I am, “SOMETIMES LOVE”. I already have a general idea who I would like to play in this one too.
No, I have not given up with pursuing Common and Tika, but I have to do it the right way. As I said before, I cannot picture anyone else playing these roles for Sometimes Love, except Common and Tika, and I have not really thought about the worst-case scenario. However, I’m moving my focus to obtaining representation. Wish me luck!
